The Marquèze Ecomuseum
Created in 1969 by the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, the Écomusée de Marquèze is one of France’s first ecomuseums. Its mission is to preserve, study and pass on the heritage of the Grande Lande, recreating the way of life in the Landes region in the 19th century. To discover this heritage with your family, you can take a miniature train, an experience that will be particularly delightful for your children. On arrival, you’ll be given a map at reception, and off you go on a treasure hunt! On site, the presence of animals enhances the experience. An opportunity for your children to learn more about the traditions and nature of the Landes!

Adrénaline Parc climbing park
Nestled in the heart of the Landes countryside, Adrénaline Parc in Moliets-et-Maa is the ideal place for a family day out. With over 25 tree-climbing courses, this park guarantees thrills for all ages, from 3 upwards. Children will have fun on adapted circuits, while adults can take on more intense challenges. In addition to the courses, various activities such as paintball, quad biking and catapulting are available to vary the fun. A snack bar awaits you for a well-deserved break. The Tuc des 9 Églises circuit
This hiking trail in Capbreton takes you through a wide variety of landscapes. The Tuc des 9 Églises circuit takes you along the Boudigau canal, through dune and forest environments. Along the way, children can have fun identifying Landes flora, including ferns, arbutus, tauzin oaks and cork oaks. At the halfway point, as you climb the wooden steps to the top of the Tuc des 9 Églises, you’ll reach an altitude of 64 metres. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the nine church towers, the surrounding beaches and the Marais d’Orx!

Courant d’Huchet Nature Reserve
Wondering what to do with the kids in the Landes region of France? Head to the Courant d’Huchet nature reserve for a boat trip! A veritable arm of the sea joining the ocean, it promises breathtaking scenery. To make the most of it, climb aboard a boat, guided by an instructor. It’s the ideal opportunity to discover the richness of nature in the Landes region. Children in particular will be delighted by this boat trip, where they can observe the flora and fauna while having fun on the water.

L’Étang noir
At the Étang noir reserve in Seignosse, a footbridge leads you into the heart of the Landes forest, inviting you to take a duckboard path. At the end of the path is the Étang Noir, named for its deep waters and muddy bottom. The surrounding swamp forest lends a particularly pleasant atmosphere, especially in summer. This mysterious atmosphere appeals to young and old alike. At the end of the footbridge, a breathtaking view of the Étang Noir awaits the whole family!

The beach
It’s impossible to spend a vacation in the Landes without visiting the most beautiful beaches in this part of France! To make the most of them, choose the mornings, between 9am and 12pm, to enjoy the calm atmosphere and avoid the crowds. Don’t forget to always swim between the lifeguard flags, as the ocean can sometimes be deceptive. Beaches to discover on your vacation in the Landes include Cap de l’Homy beach in Lit-et-Mixe, Estagnots beach in Seignosse, Lespecier beach in Mimizan and Labenne’s central beach. Plan to swim in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, sunbathe on the sand or play games and activities on the beach with your children.
Lake Hossegor
Wondering what sporting activities to take your children on during your vacation in the Landes? We highly recommend driving to Hossegor. Hossegor is home to a splendid lake where you can take a paddle. Whether it’s sunny or cloudy, it’s an ideal physical activity that appeals to the whole family. If you prefer a more leisurely activity, a walking tour of the lake is an excellent alternative. This walk, which lasts between 1H30 and 2H, lets you discover the typical architecture of the Landes houses and enjoy the natural beauty of Hossegor and its charming lake.
